Review of the year 2008

Dear Business Partners,

I think it is not exaggeration to call 2008 a very eventful and turbulent year.
Whereas the the first half of the year was, also because of the good developments and results in our industry, characterized by a positive and optimistic atmosphere, the financial crisis changed that radically. Today in many places the atmosphere is charged with sorrows, un­certainty and fear.

Nevertheless 2008 was altogether a good year for us.

• As a result of a long and intensive development Borges has today, 2008, ultimately reached the stage of being a system supplier for the original equipment industry. Our OE-Concept „Motorlogistics", which we will introduce to you in detail at the beginning of next year, as well as our new 3D-CAD Design-Office are further Milestones in this ongoing development.
• After a long period of „absence", in summer 2008 we have re-launched a competitive spare part range for the truck aftermarket.
• The business unit Tanks & Systems could once again live up to the good results of the past years. Also in this field some new developments and improvements have taken place, about which we will inform you beginning of next year.
• Also worth mentioning was our very successful attendece at this year's IAA Commercial Vehic­le Show in Hannover, at which it was our pleasure to welcome many of you.
  Further we have re-designed the contents and the graphic design of our website. The new we­bsite is online since September this year and can be reached at the known address.
• And last but not least, we could win the SME price competition „Wachstumsimpuls" (engl.: „growth impulse") already for the second time in a row. Whereas last year the motto of the contest was „Innovation", this year the contest was focused on „Internationalisation". Also this time we could convince the jury with our concept.

I want to thank all of you most cordially for the good cooperation in the last year. I wish you a happy and peaceful christmas time together with your families and of course all the best for the new business year. I am convinced that together we will cope with all challenges that the year 2009 will bring.
